- the resistor goes in the wire from the ignition switch to the coil positive terminal. The negative terminal goes straight to the points in the distributor but it will work ok the way you have it....

- No, they are completely different...different mounts, different bellhousing, flywheel, exhaust, brackets, etc. Nothing interchanges. YOu can make the swap, it's just a little bit easier than a V8 be
