sounds like the ballast resistor is broken. Take it out of the starting circuit and check its resistance with an ohm meter. If it is high resistance (infinite) then it is broken. Jon --Original Messa

I have a '68 327 Chevelle engine. I have done nothing to "make it run on unleaded" except use a higher octane. Jon i may be wrong but--there's nothing that prevents you from running unleaded gas now,

These heads are not the double hump heads. Those are #3782461. Yours are the "283 power-pack" heads. They have 60cc chambers, so give a higher compression than the double hump (62cc) or other heads
