Don't know John. The one I put on our Plus 8 this Weekend when I finaly took the D-- electronic ignition (Crane) off was gold body with a white top (Lucas Sport Coil). Car runs much better now. Gerry

My relitively new Lucas "Sports Coil" is silver (aluminum) with a white top. Not sure what is sporty about it... appears to be cheaper, more conventional construction that the other Lucas coils I hav
