- Hi Arvind, It's a very good discussion. Here we use a 1020 steel and it works well. The main advantage is that it's cheep and easy to weld. The experience that we have is that the tubes usually fails

- Chrome moly does provide higher yield strength, however if you're designing for stiffness, chrome moly's E value is VERY similar to any other steels. If you look at the two equations used in the rule
