Where do I connect the vacuum advance hose from the distributor? A friends car has the hose just lying there, all the carb ports are capped The carbs are HS4's. The advance holds vacuum so I want to

What car? What year? What country? North American MGBs changed from carb vacuum to manifold vacuum in about the 1971 year using a port on the inlet manifold. Before that, and for the UK until 76 or 7

That would depend on the year of the car - or actually the specific HS4 carbs and intake manifold. The earlier HS4s (67 and older?) had a port for the advance hose on the back of the rear carb body.
