- I need the Wisdom of the List. The car is a 1964 MG with a 10 thou "over" 3 main engine. It was rebuilt a few years ago and has about 3000 miles on it. In the past it has been treated with 20/50 oil

- My personal opinion is that synthetic blend oil won't have any measurable benefit on an older engine, but won't hurt. But it's your money... In my experience, a common cause of the starter "clicking"

- If you get one good solid click but nothing else, and the electrics in the car are still ok while this is happening (ie: all the lights and gauges don't die) then your starter probably has a dead spo

- Hmmm, I think in NA the whole line of Castrol oil products is labelled GTX -- 30wt, 10/30, 10/40, 20/50. So you have to read the label to get the right one. I can't recall ever seeing 15/40, though.
