Is there such a thing as an "average" fuel consumption (or "ideal" fuel consumption) for a stock, standard MGB? If not, would anyone hazard any thoughts on such an average for a mostly city/suburban

I would hazard a guess that good "average" fuel consumption for a B is around 22 mpg. That is...the most I've gotten is 26.5 and the worst is about 19. I would say a good goal for max economy is 23-2

This is going to be tricky! You mention buying fuel by the litre, and driving almost 1000 miles a month. So, how should we express the expected fuel mileage when we in America buy fuel in smaller-th

I was thumbing through John Twist's Tech manual when I came across his comment on average MGB mileage. John believes that 25 mpg is the norm - for SU equipped cars. With a ZS - in proper condition -

Bill.....Do me a favor and re-read the last bit of John's article. Surely he must have said the fuel consumption with a Z-S would be higher, not the fuel mileage? In our experience, the early Bs (63

Just a quick calculation: 1 US gallon = 3.785 liters, 1 Canadian (Imperial) gallon = 4.52 liters. 1 Canadian gallon = 0.84 US gallon or 1 US gallon = 1.19 Canadian gallon. -- ** Regards, Eric Stephen

Lawrie, Nope, he very clearly indicated that the mileage would be higher. I'll quote: "Expect 25 mpg in all MGs, but Strombergs, in the right circumstance, can give much greater figures. If the figur
