When I replaced the (non-standard) deckchairs in my 73 Roadster I used the 73 GT covers which were fabric facings with vinyl sides and backs, rather than the correct covers with knitted vinyl facings

I have seen references to "The old speckled 'un" being a saloon (Y type?) that was painted in a gold fleck paint for show purposes. "Old Speckled Hen" is the name of a bottled beer made in Abingdon.
