Bill, I may be mistaken, and surely someone will point it out if I am, but I believe my '62 A has a 3.9 rear axle. I remember hearing or reading that with 1622cc engine they went with that rear end.

Whereas I don't necessarily disagree with Max, I didn't have any problem when I replaced a dashpot over a year ago for the same reason that David has to. A real good cleaning was all I needed to do.
