I have seen this before. It is most likely that your lifters were not turning in the bore. Dirt or bad lifters (not round) are the most likely problem. I use a brake hone on mine before I install the

I would check the float in the front carb. You also may have a bad needle valve in that carb. This is just a place to start. Mike Olsen
