Am I missing something here? My left side (That's "near-side", Don) bracket has a pinch bolt/nut arrangement. The whole bracket that goes around the cross tube is split and simply is squeezed closed

No, the plate is no longer there. The screws are, but the plate is missing. The micro adjuster is NOT the same as the TC. I have one of those too, but the two are different. The only major difference

Help? No it only confuses. From all of the pictures in the shop manual (admittedly they're probably all of PAs) there is no micro-adjuster shown. So am I to assume there was or was not a micro-adjust
