If I remember right, it was a 302 ford trans-am motor leased from Roush. I heard it made 620hp on the dyno. I also heard the cost of the lease was about 20K. Roush did send a motor man with it to tak

I believe Doug is right. It was a Roush 302 Ford. Money was no issue with this project. I admire the Unsers, I met Jerry Unser several years ago when Ak Miller brought him to a Roadrunner's Club mee

As I recall this car like all seem to need weight in the right places, so Ron inovative as he is made the belly pan out of 1/4 " steel plate. This takes care of the weight problem and gets the weight

Rich; I think any class record that there is out there now will require about 2 HP per cubic inch. That is with a push rod motor on gas and turning alot of RPM. Doug Odom
