Besides, I'm not so sure that the drop is assuming the perfect shape. I think it's a compromise on Mother Nature's part. What shape would it assume if there was no surface tension in the water. What

What a great thought! I hadn't considered surface tension at all. An experiment? Drop of dish soap in water to kill the surface tension and use eyedropper..digital photo in flight? Try Alcohol? Gasol
