283 and 327's have an oil breather at the back of the block next to the distributor.....350's don't. They also had the oil filler in the intake, not the valve covers. Or you could look up the number

Well, yes....and no. Depends on what applications you are looking at. I have a bow tie block in the Vette that from outward appearances could be 300 to 427+ CID. Only Dan Warner knows for sure ;-) Ed

That's my best guess, and I'm stickin' to it. Besides, I just had to replace a cam becuz the engine ran just like that. John in rainy Cinti. I had 1 other car that did have an UZI under the hood too!

I have had two experiences with a pop thru the carb above 3000, the first was a burned intake valve/worn guide, the other was a bad coil. Both ran good to 3000...the pop,pop,pop!!! my two cents, joe
