Two points - There's a fair difference between a rod ratio of 1.53 and 1.63 and the unshrouding effect of increasing the bore .270" helps the 4.55 bore motor - I'd bet the short stroke motor loses 2%

Saw Kent Fuller at Speedweek and asked if it was true that he gas welded his dragster roll cages back in the '60s - He said sure , it works fine , preheat with the rosebud and weld with a small tip .
