As others have said honing is necessary. However, I had the same prob many years ago in rebuilding an idler. As with yours it almost fit. It was very, very close. Some persistent sanding of the bore

You could also use a brake honing kit if you have it, that should fit in there. Sears sells them, and probably Napa too. But reaming by a machine shop is the best idea. Alan ________________________
