Everyone seems to be addressing the Castrol LMA vs. DOT5 Silicone fluid question, but there are other fluids out there as well. Has anyone on the list used the DOT 5.1 hi-temp fluids or the Valvoline

Back in the "bad old days", putting DOT 3 in your TR was a sure fire way to screw up the brake/clutch system seals.....

I had heard that while DOT 3 & 4 were polyethylene glycol based, some of the new DOT 5.1 fluids were borate ester based..........
