Aluminum polishing is a piece of cake, but time consuming. Electric buffer, buffing wheel and polishing compound for aluminum. I've found the "stick" solid form works well. The compound comes in all

You can pick up a small used bench grinder for pretty cheap, maybe $50 or so. Usually they have a grinder wheel and a wire wheel already on them. Just switch out one of the wheels for a buffer wheel
