just to clarify - i am referring to the pads between the car body and the can anyone explain to me why the pads in the rear are not symmetrical? are they different for an early 67 1600? 311s.org show

If you mean why is one longer than the other then I can explain. There are wires that runs between the two pieces. It's been a while since I've seen them but I do believe it was the sending unit wire

If your asking about the jute padding, that was for assembly centering porposes, all it does after that, is hold water to cause rusting of the frame, the body is actually supported by the rubber moun

I don't recommend this closed cell foam for the padding as it is too soft. It will compress to a 1/16 of an inch if you apply enough pressure. It does not supply any support for the weight of the bod

there is a place here in dallas called Texas Rubber Supply. they made replacement rubber pieces for where the body bolts down for a little over $1 apiece!!! and no, they don't make or sell condoms .
