the main problem with milling the haed 100 th. is that the pistons hit the head , if someone has put flat tops in the 1600 then you have no problem , unless the deck will not hold , call me for more

I have a 1600 head with 100 thousandths milled off of it! I have not had the courage to bolt it on, tho! JH Bahn

That would be way too much for a U20 head, but I don't know about the R16. If no one has any hard data, I'd say CC the chambers first to see what the compression ratio would be. If it works out okay,

That head would work fine with flattops, but I am sure it would have contact with oem 1600 pistons. Jim

Correct! The head on the car I bought last year in California and drove back to Texas had a leaking head gasket that let go near San Francisco on Hwy 1. I pulled the head and had it cleaned up, .004"
