- up to eng.#040000, the R16 had SAE threads and a 3 bearing crank. Post eng. #040001, the engine wore METRIC threads and the 5 bearing crank. Regards, Graeme Suckling 1965 SP310 - under construction

- I'm pretty sure the later 5 main are alloy head, at least mine is! Ken Smart 67.5 1600 (SR20DE) Sydney Austalia Daniel, up to eng.#040000, the R16 had SAE threads and a 3 bearing crank. Post eng. #04
