This leak would require welding, re-machining the plug seat & new plug threads. Yikes! Putting it back can be done but it takes an artist to do it.< Looking at the head and into the waterjacket area

If this is indeed a 1600 R series engine/head, there are 2 theaded holes in front of the #1 cylinder exhaust manifold. If there is not it has been welded up, or it is not a 1600 head. I believe the
