- Likely not in need of a rebuild, Jeremy. More likely stuck contact points. I understand this happens with Lucas fuel pumps too (familliar sound of man banging on a fuel pump with a large rock and cur

- Joe Curto is a great source for rebuilding everything Lucas, and then some. He makes spares for SUs and a host of other stuff. He's [mostly] rebuilt most of my Lotus Elite. jcurto@aol.com or call 718

- Chances are that the gearbox grease has turned into a solid. These are dead simple to take apart, clean and reassemble; I like to use a high quality synthetic grease like Redline wheel bearing grease
