Jim, I have always used a spare trans input shaft. Any shaft from any tranny that will bolt up will do--it doesn't have to be identical to your exact tranny. T 10, T 5, T 50,--etc.--probably any old

I agree, the input shaft is best, but if you don't have one, plastic alignment tool is second. Failing that, a wood dowel wrapped in tape to achieve the correct diameter is faster than trying to mea
