Forget both & use a 309 Holley or 400/500 Carter or 500 Edelbrock on a GM or aftermarket manifold. With the Carter or Edelbrock, you can also get a functional electric choke. Woody Cooper @ the Wedg

Not to argue with you, as I have no opinion British vs French carbs, but your Morgan has more compression, better cam than a stock TR8. The air cleaners & other things help, the Strombergs may be be

I have a magazine article somewhere showing a Brit who put a V12 Jag in a MGBGT. A 5 year project, it looks great, but I would hate to have to change the rear plugs, somewhere under the dash. Jim Stu

Prices vary by area. In the D.C. area, I would pay $100-150.00 for an engine that was an unknown, assuming it was complete. A 4-speed bellhousing seems to go from $150.00 up. Nobody really wants an

Olds heads will not work on a Buick block, at least not without questionable machine work. Wrong number of head bolts. If you did do the swap, you would get lower compression, not higher. Jim Stuart
