I think you have it hooked up to the wrong port. The AFB's have three vacuum ports on the front face. The two larger ones (left and center) are full vacuum, the right one is timed. Try the timed port

It'll bolt up but the input depth will likely be wrong. The SROD and Tremec 5 speed have the bellhousing bolt pattern of the toploader but the input length of the T5. You can sometimes get away with
