Concerning the idea of putting a Mk IV OD tranny into a 1980 1500 spitfire, I was cuious about the 10 v. 20 spline input shaft business. Does this have an effect or does it only matter to the clutch?

As long as the input shaft is the same length and the front that fits into the piolet bushing is the same, you should use at leadt the clutch disk that matches the transmission & you should be OK. T
