To my knowledge, the TR3 had a medallion-only and no letters... I've seen both the ribbed letters and the plain letters on the widemouth cars. Most any locksmith will have the proper sized die-stamp

Actually, I'd expect just the opposite. I'd more likely believe that this would heat up your muffler/tailpipe more quickly & thus reduce the time for condensation. -S-
