A few years ago, Exxon sold their Bay Area holdings, including their refinery in Benicia, to Valero. I don't think you're going to fins any Exxon/Mobil stations around here. http://www.exxonmobil.com

I'm aware that Exxon began as a new name for Esso. And that it was produced by the Socony Vacuum Company. Socony is Standard Oil of New York, of course. My memory fades on the origins of Mobil. --Joh
