I guess I couldn't figure any other reason that the Street Prepared category was limited to no modification that would not be allowed in Prep. Modifications from Stock were toward race prepared cars.

Orchard Supply has some; Ace Hardware has a good selection. West Marine has Stainless nuts and bolts, metric and SAE. There is a place called Mr. Metric in San Jose for really hard to find fasteners.

I think you are mixing up synthetic (DOT 4) and silicone (DOT 5) fluid. Silicone is a no-no. Synthetic is chemically not all that different from Castrol LMA. Synthetic DOT 4 fluid is not a silicone
