I have to be a bit skeptical of this. Sure it may do well from a mechanical standpoint, but what about airflow? I can't see how you can get the airflow you want from air trying to make it through a s

I'm no engineer, but I do have thoughts on this. Maybe in part because I tried to develop a camless drivetrain in high school and, while it was a complete disaster, I did live through the experience.
