Nice on the street? Sure, they handle VERY well, and their rain performance is great, for an R tire. But the NOISE is what I couldn't live with. It sounds like I'm driving a 4x4 with big mud tires -

I haven't removed my Toyo RA-1's from the car in over a year. They are getting a little scary in the rain though. I do drive the car on the street quite often and to events without changing as well.

I don't have the large measuring instrument you seem to have, but I will still agree that the sidewall is not stiff. That is why I run the Toyos at 50psi. It seems to me to work okay down to 47 or so

I would think so, yes. Any of the big 3 R-tires lose their tread pattern (you know, that holographic stuff) very quickly and only have like two circumferencial grooves left. An AVS with 2/32nds still

I've heard those are pretty decent for a "streetable" R-tire, too. But also heard exactly what you said, they get a little scary in the rain as they wear, and they still have a lot of usable tread. T
