Okay, I have a friend who has a '99 Miata. He has installed the Racing Beat front sway bar and the tie bar that goes between the stock mounts and stiffens them. There is no drilling or other modifica

Front swaybar is free in stock class, probably even if the car came without one, though I'm sure a Miata did. Strut braces are not swaybars. If he wants to run his Miata in CSP, he can run his strut

That's just the thing, though...it's not a strut tie bar--it's a sway bar mount tie bar. After re-reading the rules, I'm beginning to think it's illegal, though. Anyone think it might be legal??? -d

The way I read the rule book, the end link that attaches the sway bar to the strut, body, frame, or suspension is part of the mounting hardware for the sway bar, and therefore is free to be replaced

The original question was whether or not it is legal to add a stiffening device to the Miata's front swaybar chassis bracket mounting points. RX7TT's have the same problem. It is not legal IMO, but b

It only says "mounting bolts" (I have a 1998 book). Logically, the only reason to drill holes is for bolts to mount BRACKETS. If the stock brackets are there and are going to be used, there is no rea

The magic wording is to call the piece a 'front sway bar mounting bracket'. BTW, if you use heim jointed endlinks (like the stock 99 links), the mounts should not crack. My 94 and 96 never cracked th
