Why bother with the power tool, then? It's as quick to spin the lugs off with an X-wrench. Same applies for putting them on, if you're starting them by hand and finishing with a torque wrench. Jamie

When it is raining, you'll appreciate a powered tool. Ask anybody who has seen me with my 12 volt powered impact tool that clips on to the car battery like a jumper cable. Matt Murray mailto:mattm@op

Once the torque is broken loose (with an X wrench or similar device) I find my cordless drill with socket adapter does pretty much the same thing, for less money. And it's more versatile. I can drill

I use a "brace and bit" type wrench handle. Don't know what you call them, but I go as fast as the power drill guys. Of course I need to re-charge with beer every three days or I run down.:) PLW

I have never had a cross threaded lug nut with my little drill. I palm the set of lug nuts and pop them into the socket. Threading them onto each stud by hand would probably take longer than the com
