The studs for steel wheels should protrude from the hub about 1-3/16" while the wire wheel ones are about 15/16". Richard Good Good Parts

The wire wheel studs are short - just long enough for the spline adapter with the special conical nuts that secure the adapter to the hub. sounds like you need the steel wheel studs. Mark Anderton 72
