I installed one in my TR6. There was an initial problem with my unit, two of the magnets inside the rotating housing were not of the correct polarity; and thus the sensor failed to recognize them wh

I have used one for about 2 years (~8000 miles) -- no problems so far. Yes it does replace the points and condenser for a stock TR6 distributor. I don't know about increasing performance per se, but
