Gary, I think the manual states something like the valve is for fine adjustment of CO or emissions. Most people just screw it in all the way to disable it, since most DIYs dont have a way to test emi

John, and group--There are three "adjustments" provided on the ZS carb that sometimes get crossed up. (Me included) They would be the temp. compensator, the bi-pass valve and the idle trim screw. 1)
