had a similar problem several years ago and went through a couple of angle=
drives before I realized it was a speedo cable issue. Replaced the cable a=
nd problem solved. My guess was the cable was binding and putting too much =
drag on the angle drive causing it to fail.</p><p class=3DMsoNormal><o:p>&n=
bsp;</o:p></p><p class=3DMsoNormal>The end piece that you can=E2=80=99t fin=
d will not harm the transmission but you need to find it before you try to =
install another angle drive. Maybe a small magnet or a small pick would hel=
p. Other wise remove the speedo drive from the transmission ; you should be=
able to do this from under the car by removing the keeper bolt and working=
the drive out with some large plyers. You might need to replace the speedo=
drive if you can=E2=80=99t find or remove the broken piece.</p><p class=3D=
MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=3DMsoNormal>The reverse issue =E2=
=80=9Cmight=E2=80=9D be repaired from inside the car if the issue is extern=
al. You=E2=80=99d need to remove the dash support and tunnel cover to get t=
o the lever ball and socket. There is a small spring and plug in the lever =
end which may have worn out or fallen out. I assume you are lifting the lev=
er before you slide it over for reverse however. Also there may be and issu=
e internally with the top cover but you can remove the top cover without re=
moving the transmission. In either case the problems you are having most li=
kely does not require removal of the transmission but will involve some int=
erior removal to get to the top of the gearbox.</p><p class=3DMsoNormal><o:=
