Hi Jason :

I haven't tried the seals from VB, but here's a couple of comments.
Have you filled the MC with fluid yet ? The brake fluid acts as a
lubricant, will reduce the force needed to move the pison. Also, did
you replace the big spring inside the MC ? They get weak, and break,
with old age. Don't know if VB sells them, but Moss P/N 582-065 is only
a few dollars. I'm not certain it fits a Spit, but it should.

About your post, you need to mention every time what car you have, or at
least are asking about. There are a wide variety of Triumph models
represented on the list, the answers aren't always the same. A simple
'67 Spit Mk II' on the line after your name is sufficient, or you could
also include the commission number. Many of us (myself included) find
it easier to remember cars than names, too. Plus, people sometimes
learn just from the questions that others are asking. Someone else
might read your post, and think "Hmmm, VB sells clutch seals for a
Spit. Bet they're cheaper than paying shipping from Rimmer's."

Also, vtr@autox.team.net is normally for VTR-related business, events
and whatnot. Since not everyone is a VTR member (and hence doesn't read
the VTR list), you probably should join (and post to)
triumphs@autox.team.net instead. There's also a "Spitfires only" list,
but I think you meet a better class of people on the 'big list' <grin>
We were just discussing broken clutch MC springs a few days ago ...

Not a flame at all, just pointing out some details you might not be
aware of.

Cheers
