I'm one of those people who actually uses their cars and
I try to make it a point to drive it to conventions.
I am not a serious rallye expert (yet) but enjoy the "fun"
rallyes that give you a chance to drive some nice roads
and see the countryside without being under a lot of
pressure. My 14 year old navigated for me in the Granbury
Rallye and we had a blast. I always enter the concours in
anticipation of just having a good time looking at the
other cars and talking to new people so it's always a
pleasant surprise when my car actually wins something
and I seldom get upset when it doesn't. My car isn't
restored to the standard that a lot of the cars at
Ft. Worth were and probably never will be. It will
never see the inside of an enclosed trailer and usually
shows up the first day covered with dirt and smashed bugs.
I think the concours thing is 'way out of hand for us
folks who can't afford to sink $20,000 into a $5000 car
and haul it around on a trailer. Don't forget about us,
we are the majority of the VTR. Just my opinion.....
