Hello, Bill: Well, after years of storing TR-8's, I've decided it's time
to think about unloading some of my "stuff". Since I haven't been keeping
track of the Triumph/racing scene for 10 - 12 years, I thought I'd contact
you for any suggestions you might be able to give me on how to sell cars,
parts, the wedge-shaped trailer, etc. Also, any guidance on prices, who to
talk to, publications to advertise in, etc. would be appreciated. If you'd
rather discuss by telephone, let me know when to call.
The cars are a 1981 TR-8 convertible "like new" with 2,400 miles
(hasn't been driven in rain, snow, etc. (or for the last couple years!)).
Also, I still have the TR-8 coupe that I raced four times in 1979 prior to
getting "the boot" by SCCA for the fact that JRT (or was it BLMI then?)
hadn't built enough cars. It has been stored since, and is basically a
"new" car.
The "roadster" (1981 Nat'l Champ) is still in the "post 1984 CSPRRC"
condition (remember the flood/wreck?) but I have everything necessary
(except the inclination) necessary to restore. At the time, we estimated
it would take 80 - 100 hours to fix it right. I also have tons (literally)
of new parts, including some really "special" bits.
I'd like to send you info for a couple VTR classifieds, but wanted to
get some guidance first. Thanks, Bill - I'm really impressed that you're
still involved!
