Hmmmmmm....this sounds familiar.  Yesterday afternoon I was trying to
start a GT6 with a crankcase full of 20/50 in Denver.  It would 
crank just fast enough to almost start, then disengage.  By the time
it finally started I was about ready to have it trailered back to
the garage to await Spring.  And I thought it was the starter drive.
When it finally caught, it sucked up the bits of starting fluid that
had pooled in the carbs and blew flames out the tailpipe.  Quite a
sight.
