While I am not a big Nextel Cup fan, I am always curious when they run a road course. I watched the last 30 laps of their race at Watkins Glen yesterday and was interested in comparing the leaders' lap times with those of the Rolex Daytona Prototype leaders who ran Friday on the same course. The DP leaders ran about 1:09 seconds. I cannot find any Nextel Cup lap times published. Nor were they shown during the race. Is this common practice for NASCAR? I would guess that the DP leaders were faster. Anyone know the answer? Richard |
