It's just the way I wrote it in the previous message -- ALL formula cars up
to 1972 at BeaveRun, but ONLY pre-1960 formula cars at Schenley Park.
So, a Formula Ford is welcome at BeaveRun, but is not eligible for Schenley
Park. Clear enough?
Please try to understand that these are TWO SEPARATE EVENTS, with two
separate sets of rules & eligibility, and TWO SEPARATE CLUBS involved. The
only relationship between the two events is that they are both under the
overall umbrella of the PVGP Association, and both events raise money for
the same charities.
And one of the main reasons for creating the second event is to be able to
accomodate cars that haven't been eligible at Schenley Park. So, it should
come as no surprise that the eligibility rules are different. That was the
intent!
Your comparison to General Racing, Inc (Steve Earle's company) is not really
accurate. A better West-coast comparison might be if CSRG ran at
Thunderhill one weekend, and HMSA ran at Laguna Seca a week later. Two
separate events ... two separate sets of rules & eligibility ... two
separate clubs. Some cars would undoubtedly be eligible for both events.
Other cars might only be eligible for one.
I think we all understand your point about not entering events where one
doesn't feel wanted. But the clear message should be, if you have a
pre-1973 vintage car, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association (and the
related charites) WANTS YOU, has always wanted you, and now finally has a
place for 1960-1972 cars to run. It has taken a lot of effort to get the
Historic Races off the ground, and PVGPA and the related clubs have done
that specifically because people like you have indicated an interest in the
past, but weren't eligible previously. Yes, I know that BeaveRun isn't a
street course through the city of Pittsburgh, it's not exactly the same
thing, but it is something that PVGPA and VRG can offer to the owners of
1960-1972 vintage cars so that you can be part of the Pittsburgh vintage
experience.
