Derek,
You DO realize that Chuck Christ has effectively DOUBLED his
horsepower, don't you? If (a big IF), 100lb = 10 hp, and Chuck lost 250
lb-which is probably close, then he effectively "gained" 25hp...which is
about what his Singer Sew.... er, SAAB "engine" produces...... So watch
out, Chuck now has 50hp...

Subject: Re: period correct, etc
I think all vintage groups should take a serious look at
Charles' SAAB - it's obviously not period correct - in fact
you could say it's not even within the spirit of being
vintage correct.
Let's face it in their period SAABs were extremely fast
even when driven by over sized men - in fact especially so
when driven by one particular over sized Swedish man. Maybe
Charles' track speed can be explained by an <undersized>
engine???????? - we can't allow that - it's just as bad as
an oversized engine - right?
So come on Charles -
- 1 - put back some of that weight
- 2 - learn to speak Swedish
- 3 - bring your engine back up to size
- 4 - and please find that lost shift key .........
