I just bought one for $260 from someone who ordered a bulk purchase from AMB.

They might be right about a shortage-- there are a couple of vintage 
organizations (CVAR and VSCDA(?)) that are going to transponders this year.  
That means several hundred new ones right there.

True, or not... AMB claims they might me hard to get in the spring.
