Thanks to all who emailed advice on my history chase.
Thanks to Pat Ryan we have found Mr Gerald McCabe, previous owner of the
Lotus 22 back in the mid 70's up until 1982. I spoke to him at length at his
home in San Pedro over the weekend. He was amazed that I had found him! He
told me his nephew had purchased the car on his behalf (without engine) from
a gentleman in SACRAMENTO. The nephew cannot remember the name of the guy
but knows he had raced the car and thinks it was in VARA events.
Now we need you sleuths out there to help me find a guy who raced a LOTUS 22
in the early to mid 1970's and lived in Sacramento and blew the engine up
and then sold the car.
The chase is on and getting exciting but I admit it is like the proverbial
needle and haystack. Any old racers on the list living in Sacramento in the
70's must know who this this guy is.
My thanks to all of you who are taking an interest in helping a total
stranger living on the opposite side of the planet.
