No, gritting his teeth is what Derek was doing in his 998 Mini when I passed
him in my 903 Fiat 850 Spider... ten years ago... (not sure I could do that
now, power to weight ratio is infinitely worse...)
Haven't tried Praise Dyno brakes for straight axle Corvette brakes, but the
Rochester Brake and Clutch "Velvetouch" linings were the best thing we used
on Gary Plichta's straight axle car (still has drum brakes all around)
