In the summer of 66 I worked at Zink's shop for a week replacing a 850
cc Holbay Ford with a 1300 Alfa engine for Hersch Wiggington, a country
music backup singer. The car was one of two or three Ed built using
similar techniques to the Vees. Ed fabricated headers and a bellhousing
for the Hewland transaxle while I was there.
I doubt anyone is discussing anything with Ed - he's been an Alzeimer's
case for a few years now. One of his ex mechanics runs a VW shop north
of Knoxville, though.
