The car in question was checked and we determined that it did have a bigger
motor. When confronted, the owner admitted to having a 1600. Since it was not
until Sunday that your guys reported it, and since Road America is what we
call an "open event" we decided there was little to do at that point. When we
run at Road America we honor cars that the local club considers correct. That
car ran there regularly. Did you ever complain to them?
When that same car registered for Mid-Ohio the following SVRA event, we put
it in Group 3 where a correct Sprint Guilia should be. At that event it was
determined that the 1600 was actually a 1750! We declined any further
entries from this car and it has not raced with us since, even at Road
America. The fact that it may have been slow was never an issue.

WE have always allowed and encouraged this improvement for Lotus Elites.

Like I asked Brett, did you ever ask?
